Rwenzori Information Centres’ Network (RIC-NET) is a network of Informatrion Centres at County level in the five Districts of the Rwenzori Region. These include Kabarole Information Centre (KIC) in Kabarole District, Kyaka Rural Information Centre (KRIC) and Mwenge Rural Information Centre (MRIC) in Kyenjojo District, Kamwenge Communities Information Centre (KACOICE) and Kitagwenda Information and Resource Centre (KIREC) in Kamwenge District, Semuliki Information Centre (CIS) in Bundibugyo District, Busongora Rural Information Centre (BRIC) and Bwera Information Centre (BIC) in Kasese District.
RIC-NET as a network of these Information Centres plays a fundamental role in linking the Information Centres to each other so as to facilitate the smooth flow of information and also ensure that information is shared through out the Region. RIC-NET also plays an advocacy role, helps to lobby for support to the Centres. The network also helps in giving technical support in Information Communication Technology (ICT) and also in information sourcing, repackaging, dissemination and follow up as well as documentation skills.
RIC-NET is able to get in touch with the grass root communities through the different levels of Information Centres which are County, Sub County, Parish/Village levels, and individuals/households.
